Shoprite Furniture Division: General T&C’s for Competitions

  1. Unless expressly stated otherwise, these terms will apply to all competitions on this website. In the event of conflict between these terms and the rules applicable to any specific competition, the specific competition's rules will prevail. Specific competition rules will be made available on www.termsconditions.co.za. The competition will set out at least the following:
    • The prizes on offer;
    • The steps required to participate;
    • The basis for determining the winners;
    • The closing date;
    • How the winners will be made known;
    • Where, when and from whom prizes are to be claimed;
    • The address of the webpages where the competition rules and these terms can be obtained.
  2. All competitions oĆŻered on this website will be open to local residents only unless expressly stated otherwise. We may also stipulate additional entry criteria for entrants to a competition (e.g. a minimum age) and any entrant failing to comply with such criteria may be refused entry.
  3. Anyone working for us or any entity in our group or for the supplier of the prizes for the relevant competition (including any director, employee, contractor, agent or consultant) and any person with more than 5% shareholding in any of our group entities, or for any of our advertising, media or public relations agencies, as well as any family members of any of the aforesaid are prohibited from entering any competitions oĆŻered on this website.
  4. The closing date for any competition will be as stated. The judges cannot accept responsibility for late entries.
  5. We will be entitled to all right, title and interest in all entries submitted, including all intellectual property rights. Entrants must do all things necessary, including the execution of any requisite documentation to transfer such rights to us, as and when requested.
  6. Any entrant may be required to submit proof of age. If you are not yet 18, you will be required to obtain your parents' or legal guardians' advance authorisation, permission and consent to participating in a competition or any of the related activities. If you fail to obtain such consent you may not participate in the competition or the related activities.
  7. The judge’s decision will be final. We will not enter into correspondence.
  8. All entrants' information will be used only in accordance with our Client Information Processing Policy.
  9. Where entry by SMS is applicable, SMSs are charged. Standard rates apply. Free rates do not apply.
  10. Any deviation from the rules and/or attempt to manipulate the outcome of the prize will result in disqualification.
  11. We reserve the right not to award a prize in any situation where it would be unlawful to do so.
  12. Multiple winners may be subject to tie-break to decide an outright winner.
  13. We may re-allot prizes if we are unable to contact selected winners. Please ensure that you provide the correct contact details.
  14. Your name and place of residence may be published when winners are announced.
  15. Winners may be requested to be photographed for publicity purposes or to participate in a radio or television broadcast or other marketing activity. No fees will be payable in this regard. Participation in any such marketing activity is voluntary and may be declined.
  16. No cash alternative is available to any prize unless expressly stated otherwise.
  17. Prizes are non-transferable in whole or in part, must be taken as stated and may not be sold to a third party. You must confirm acceptance of the prize as stated, failing which you will no longer be eligible for a prize, and that prize will be reallotted.
  18. If any prize oĆŻered becomes unavailable for reasons outside of our control, we reserve the right to select an alternative prize of equivalent type and value.
  19. Where prizes involve travelling abroad, winners must be in possession of a valid passport, required visas and the relevant health certificates.
  20. We accept no responsibility for any incorrect or incomplete registration details that you may supply as part of your registration. No responsibility will be accepted for undelivered, lost or delayed entries. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Errors in entries may, in the judges' discretion, void entries.
  21. YOU ENTER OUR COMPETITIONS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK. WE, OUR AFFILIATES, COMPETITION PARTNER/S AND THEIR RESPECTIVE SHAREHOLDERS, EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS AND REPRESENTATIVES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, INJURY OR COSTS, HOWSOEVER ARISING, SUFFERED AS A RESULT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION IN A COMPETITION, SAVE TO THE EXTENT THAT SUCH LIABILITY MAY NOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

OK FURNITURE FATHERS DAY COMPETITION JUNE 2025 TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. The promoter is OK Furniture and OK Power Express (South Africa) a trading division of Shoprite Checkers (Pty) Ltd (â€�the Promoterâ€�).&˛Ô˛ú˛ő±č;&˛Ô˛ú˛ő±č;
  2. The promotional competition is open to all South African residents and who are in possession of a valid identity document, passport or document of proof of South African or Country residency. Any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, the marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members may not enter or participate in the Competition and will automatically be disqualified upon entry.
  3. Any participant under the age of 18 (Eighteen) years must be fully assisted by his/her guardian, who approves of and consents to the participant’s participation in the competition and the participant’s receipt/possession of the prize.
  4. This promotional competition is open from 9 June 2025 and ends at 12am (midnight) on 15 June 2025. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
  5. To enter, participants will berequired to: 
    1. Comment or reply to our Father’s Day competition post on the OK Furniture South Africa Facebook page. To be eligible for the winner draw, participants� comments or responses should include:
      • Photo of their Father or Father figure;
      • Brief description on why he deserves to win;
      • Our hashtag for the competition

  6. Rules
    1. Only 1 (One) entry per person.
    2. Winner selection will only commence once the competition post(s) have received a minimum of 250 entry comments
    3. Winners will be selected randomly.
    4. Only 2 (two) winners will be selected.
  7. The prizes will be:
    1. (Two) Romeo Recliner Couches (SKU 214350)
      1. Only one per winner.
  8. All winners will be required to provide their names, ID numbers and contact details and to sign an acknowledgment of receipt of the prize. Only the winner can redeem their prize.  
  9. Winners will firstly be contacted through Facebook to share their details and thereafter contacted telephonically for verification. The Promoter (or their agent) will endeavour to contact the prize winner once every day for 5 (Five) consecutive working days after their name is drawn. If the prize winner cannot be contacted during this period, the prize will be forfeited. 
  10. The prize does not include delivery, but if required, can be arranged at an additional minimal fee and if applicable, winners will be required to provide the Promoter with a valid day and time and delivery address to enable delivery.

  12. The Promoter reserves the right to name winners publicly and any other place where the Promoter deems fit. By entering the competition, prize winners agree to the publication of their name by the Promoter.

Failure to claim the prize within a period of 1(one) week after being contacted and/or a refusal or inability to comply with these terms and conditions will result in the disqualification of the relevant winner and a new winner will be drawn in their place at the sole discretion of the Promoter.
  14. Any personal data submitted by you will be used solely in accordance with current South African data protection legislation and the Promoter’s privacy policy.
  15. The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  16. The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted. 
  17. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  18. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.

  20. The prize is not exchangeable for cash and is not transferrable.  
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to use the images taken of the winners for publicity purposes in any manner they deem fit, without remuneration being made payable to the winner. However, the winner has the right to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter at 1 Brickfield Road, Meadowdale Mall, Edenvale and/or Private Bag X10036, Edenvale, 1610, South Africa Att : Legal Department.  
  22. The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.  
  23. In the event that the prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal value.  
  24. Neither the Promoter, its agents, associated companies, nor any directors, officers or employees of such, shall be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the participant.  
  25. The judgesâ€� decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
